Saturday 8/10 – Retro Gaming
Jeremy Parish of the Retronauts, invites Kurt and Rob from Hardcore Gaming 101 to discuss the gaming systems that were underappreciated in their time. Virtual Boy? Nuon? Come join us for what is sure to be a fun panel!
Frank Cifaldi, of the Video Game History Foundation, will be discussing his role at Digital Eclipse and their vision for treating classic game re-releases as interactive art books. Frank will use examples from recent releases like the critically acclaimed Mega Man Legacy Collection and the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.
First time visitors to LI Retro, Pat Contri and Ian Ferguson are bringing the #CUPodcast on the road. The boys discuss the latest in video games, movies, retro game topics, and take Q and A from the audience! It’s the Completely Unnecessary Podcast!
Vinny is the creator of the Vinesauce YouTube channel which is home to video game corruptions, showcases of awful games, disturbing Mario and Luigi cartoons, original characters, and bizarre game glitches. He also has a popular Twitch channel where his YouTube material comes from.
Modern Vintage Gamer's popular YouTube channel features stories of console hacking, trade secrets of the modding underground and scene retrospectives on systems like the Original Xbox, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2/3 and the effect that the modding community has had on them. MVG will be discussing the history of copy protection in videogames.
Unlike modern consoles with HDMI outputs, the displays and cables you use to play classic game consoles plays a major role in the overall gaming experience. This panel will discuss how to preserve that experience at any budget, as well as discuss a bit about why it’s important. This will be followed by a Q&A at the end.
Anatoly Shashkin’s “DOS Nostalgia” is about memories, re-examining the past, and software preservation. Drop by to discover a whole new world of MS-DOS games and learn about what makes them so special, or to revisit your IBM PC memories. Anatoly will present “The Weird and Wonderful World of French PC Games”, how interesting!
Join the HG101 and Top 47,858 Games of All Time podcast crew as they discuss and rank the works of cult classic developer Treasure, including Gunstar Heroes, Sin & Punishment, Ikaruga, and more!
Leonard Herman, the Game Scholar, is the father of videogame history. His book Phoenix, now in its 4th edition, was the first comprehensive book about the history of videogames, when it was published in 1994. Now a columnist with Old School Gaming Magazine, Leonard has written articles for Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Informer, Edge and many other magazines. Leonard will be sharing stories of his times with Ralph Baer and Ted Dabney. You won’t want to miss this!
The Playable Characters Podcast returns to LI Retro! After last year’s groundbreaking show that critics are STILL talking about, where they interviewed Mega Man 1 Box Art Guy and 2 Dueling Pokemon Trainers, who will be joining them this year? Kratos? Lara Croft? That jerk Mario? Come to their live show to find out!

Sunday 8/11 – Retro Gaming
My Life in Gaming was started by Coury Carlson and Marc “Try4ce” Duddleson in 2013 as an outlet for taking their professional experience in video production and creating projects that they could get excited about. After starting with channel with the “How to Beat” VHS-style series, My Life in Gaming has gone on to showcase unique retro games, interview industry figures, and more. My Life in Gaming’s most popular series is the “RGB Master Class,” which breaks down the complex topic of getting the best picture out of retro consoles into easy-to-understand episodes.
Since 2005, the CAGcast has been a pretty silly podcast about video games and the topics that affect gamers. Hosts CheapyD, Wombat, and Shipwreck talk industry news, review games, supply game shopping tips and generally share too much of our personal lives. Giving new meaning to “Talk is Cheap”, the CAGcast is the official Podcast of the video game shopping community, CheapAssGamer.com Join Cheapy D, Shipwreck and Wombat for a live recording of the CAGcast at this years Long Island Retro Gaming Expo
Please join Jeremy Parish from Retronauts, Coury Carlson from My Life in Gaming and Frank Cifaldi of the Video Game History Foundation for a panel discussion regarding the best ways to play, preserve, and enjoy older games.
Two brothers who have been talking about video games and comic books on YouTube for almost 6 years, but to each other for a little bit longer than that. You might know us from our Nintendo Switch videos. Long Island’s own. Will and Bob will be hosting their popular Youtube show WULFF DEN LIVE at LI Retro.
One of gaming’s most popular and hippest preservationists is coming to #LIRetro for the first time ever! Be there as NY’s very own, Jay Baam from Team1UpEm comes to the Island to discuss his remarkable journey in bringing retro goodness to the masses and helping build one of the most active retro gaming communities across social media!

Welcome to the Weird West! Fear stalks the land like a hungry beast, and abominations from man's myths and nightmares haunt the High Plains. Legends tell of ancient and powerful beings that thrive on the fear created by these horrific creatures. All around, the night grows darker and the shadows grow longer as evil twists the land. Arrayed against the forces of darkness are the heroes of the Weird West: Grim gunslingers, spell-slinging hucksters, brilliant mad scientists, and wizened Indian shamans stake their souls and fortunes on the battle against the evils of the frontier, and often lay down their very lives for the cause of righteousness and light. And sometimes, death is not the end.

The family has always been about more than blood, taking in vagrants and turning them in to loyal clan-mates. But when hooded strangers arrive on their doorstep, begging sanctuary from the brutal mercenaries pursuing them, their ideals will be tested. Breach and Impeach
You receive an anonymous disc in the mail, if for no other reason than morbid curiosity you play the disc:
Greetings Kindred, schemes are afoot and our kind who call this city home are in dire peril. Without revealing too much I beseech you, meet me and the others I've summoned at one of my seasonal residences. All will be explained there. You open the case to find a card with an address on one side and some strange yet oddly familiar symbol.

Welcome Blood Bowl fans! Blood Bowl is that most brutal of sports that celebrates violence as much as technique. The Long Island Blood Bowl League, now in its 15th season, is one of the largest leagues in the United States and has built a long tradition of blood and fanfare. Races from all over the world come together to battle it out on the pitch. One of the forgotten races, the Halflings, embrace the fun of the game more than most. So when they approached me to run their own tournament, I thought to myself – “why the heck not?”. Coaches far and wide, come and participate in the inaugural edition of the Halfling Master Bowl!
